South African Cooking Classes

What a better idea than going for South African Cooking Classes while you are in Cape Town. It is a great way to learn about the different cultures that form part of South Africa.

* Andulela offer a Cape Malay Cooking Safari where you will discover traditional culture through a guided walking tour of the historical Bo-Kaap and a full course traditional Cape Malay meal. You would also be able to do an Arica Cooking Safari which combines a guided townhsip walking tour focusing on food and food-related traditions, a hands-on cooking demonstration of African cuisine and lunch!

* The Cellars-Hohenort is a beautiful Cape Dutch styl hotel and restaurant where you will have a real traditional Cape Malay cooking experience with the chef Martha. The course will be as follows (as per their website): "16h00 - Guests arrive at The Cape Malay Restaurant and enjoy a traditional Cape Malay welcome drink on the Hohenort stoep. 16h30 - Our aspiring cooks join Martha and her team in the kitchen and under her instructions start preparing two main courses and one dessert. While the main course is in the oven, guests are seated in the restaurant where they can enjoy aromatic Cape Malay recommendations. 19h00 - The prepared meal is then plated by Martha and served by the waiters. A special wine list to compliment the cuisine will be available, with our Sommelier to assist with wine recommendations."
